Do I need to wait to put on the vinyl?

I need to seal the roof before I put down the vinyl. After reading the paint job on a budget thread on moparts and reading an article in hot rod magazine I decided to paint the roof with rustoleum. My question is will the glue  mess with the paint at all if I put it on too soon?

paint needs to be dry before you glue on the vinyl top. I wouldn't use any rattle cans on there either. Use good epoxy primer like PPG's DPLF series.

As long as the primer sets for at least 24 hours it will be fine.

If you used rustoleum paint without scuffing the roof the paint will peel off.

I was told to use POR15 on the roof before putting on the vinyl.  I don't if it is the best approach?
