What is a good electrical fuel pump?

I am having problems starting my car after it sits for a couple of weeks. It seems that the fuel in the carbs. are dissipating when it sits. I have to crank it for alittle while. I know that the gas isn't all the great these days and I want to install an elect. fuel pump. What is a good elect. fuel pump for this problem? My 440 is pushing 500hp and it is a street car. Is the holley red pump good?

My personal prference is a Mallory 4140 pump that I have had on my Charger for 7 years and I works great, this one requires a fuel pressure regulator and if you don't want a regulator I think the number is 4110 for that one.

On the Sumitt website it says the 4110 needs a pressure regulator. I don't want to run a regulator.

I looked up the description for the 4110 and I think it is odd that they recommend a regulator when it is preset at 7 lbs and it doesn't come with one like the 4140 also there is an adjustment on the outside of the pump where you can adjust the output somewhat, but I am sure Mallory knows more about there stuff than I do. I hope this helps.

I agree, it might be a miss-print, that fuel pump shouldn't need a reg. being preset at 7 lbs., it basically supplies like the holley RED & its set at 7 lbs. i think & the RED doesn't reqiure a reg.

Aeromotive A1000 is what I'm running....    pushes ALOT of fuel - but for a non EFI car I suggest the Mallory 140...     :2thumbs:    Good call Ron

The Mallory 140 needs a regulator and I don't want to run one. Anybody try the Edelbrock 1791? It's a toss up between the Mallory 110 and Edelbrock 1791.
