I'm just about to install factory hp manifolds on a 440, currently one of the studs leaks a little, i have a complete stud/bolt kit, should i change all of them? or just seal the one i know leaks? also what sealant is good to use? high temp rtv? what's the best method to change the studs? double nut them?

thanks.

If the threads are good, and they aren't leaking, I leave them alone.  If they are leaking, I use a double nut in order to remove them.  Once they're out, I run a tap in the hole to clean up the threads, and then use Permatex Ultra Copper high temp silicone sealer on the threads of the new stud.

thankyou.   I have the whole stud kit, it's hard to know which ones are leaking or not since i know one leaks just a tiny bit, and when you start the motor up you can see just a little smoke from the one stud at the front, but them when you shut it down hot, it's not leaking, and you can't see the leak at all.  I'm just thinking that i should change them all when i have the manifolds out, since i have the whole stud kit???   :scratchchin:  or just take the chance and use the old ones and just fix the one that i know is leaking.  ???
