For residents of Canada who win huge jackpots in Vegas and get taxed for it by the American Government, there is a company that gets that tax money back. Even though the jackpot was won in the U.S., the government there cannot tax a non-resident. Happened to my boss once and he got all the tax money back.

As for a car though, you might have to pay just standard Canada Tax when you bring the car across the border....

Another story though is a Canadian couple won huge on The Price is Right TV Show, won a car, furniture, etc. Sadly they tried to bring it all across back to Canada and the tax they had to pay was so much they just sold everything down in the states since they weren't going to be taxes with the cash as much as the items.

I just got the same letter with a receipt that credits my account. I wonder how much time & money they spent issuing credits? It would have been better for them if they had a large, printed message right where people sign up to avoid the hassle.

Of course we all know there will still be a handful of individuals that wouldn't read it unless an arm popped out of the monitor & hit them with a bat in the side of the head.
