whenever I see an Anti-smoking Ad on T.V. or read a thread like this. I have a smoke....this thread is killing me!

The point that you keep ignoring is that the fat guy that sits in the same room as me does me no harm.

The smoker's second hand smoke does.

Wellll, in all honesty, all bad habits do all of us harm in some way. Higher insurance rates (in the case of overeating, smoking and alcohol) Alcohol has been known to cause physical harm (death and disfigurment) to a great deal of innocents (think about those useless jerks who insist on driving after getting their "light buzz"). Its never them that we have to put in a body bag. Even the social problems and the subsequent increase in violence and additional cost of law enforcement brought about by moral problems such as gambling and pornography and related things affect us all. We all live on this rock together...You cant just single out second hand smoke as the only vice "affecting others"
