How do you know when a Charger is a Canadian Import? Do you need the buildsheet to know that? :shruggy:

If you don't have a build sheet or fender tag, there is another way to find out if its a Canadian Imported car. The shipping order number on trunk lip and radiator support will have an 'A' where the 4th character is. Mine is a Canadian car and has B8XA59739 stamped there. This is the case for 68, not sure on other years.

Cheers,

Try and notice if it has an affinity for beer and says "eh" a lot.  If it watches hockey like a religious program, that would also be a good sign Cody.

In 1970 you will have "Y07" on the tag and your order code will begin with a "C". If you have your broadcast sheet, it will say "Canadian Job" on the bottom.

Magnumcharger

And if it has a rear window defroster...it might be Canadian.
Oh yeah, and my '68 has the "eh" in the 4th character on the rad support.

It's possible, but the rear-defogger option was somewhat common on US built cars. I think I read in another thread somebody said that all Canadian built cars had it, but that's not true. I would say over 90% of them got it, but not all of them.

Your registration papers may say Canadian import because a prvious owner lived in Canada or bacause the car was originally sold in Canada.  Info like that on the registration papers may not necessarily reflect where the car was built.

It's not where the car was built but rather where the car was built for.

Just 6T9 CHGR

For '69 the VON on the tag or BS will have a "B"  as the first digit for Canadian export....no other codes on the tag
