Recharged68

I'm am new to this forum and this is my first post.  Does anyone know where to get good wheel well moldings for my '68 charger?  I purchased aluminum chromed reproduction ones and they are terrible.  The holes do not even line up.  I have been searching for NOS, but they are hard to find.  Has anyone bought a good set of reproduction moldings or know where to get real stainless steel ones in great shape? Thanks!

Dennis K

I found these ones on Ebay. I emailed the seller asking him what these were made of, and he told me they were stainless steel, not aluminum. I didn't buy them so I can't say how they fit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar-1968-69-70-Dodge-Charger-Wheel-Opening-Mouldings_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ140708QQihZ012QQitemZ220102571739

I looked on the Dantes website and didn't notice these.  Did you actually buy them from Dantes.  And can you get just one or do you have to buy the whole set.  We are talking about Stainless---correct?

Didn't check Paddock.  They made me mad.  Wanted to buy a couple of items from them and they charge shipping by $$.  Not weight or volume.  The two things I needed would have fit in a couple of cigarette packs but they wanted me to pay something like $22 shipping.  I yelped at this and said I was sorry but would have to find the items elsewhere.  They really didn't seem to care one way or the other.  Seems like an odd way to conduct business.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Because I have found that new stuff sometimes does not fit as nicely as old original stuff does. :yesnod:

go under aero section , look for A-pillar trim and trunk hinges , I put a great deal of effort in making those items.

It is going to take me a while to even do that.  With an 8 mos old daughter and trying to buy a house, I will have money issues for a while.  As it is, the wife wants me to sell the charger so we have some "temporary money".  I think if the charger goes, so will my sanity. :P

They were much thinner which turned out okay.  Since I had welded the quarters on there were no original holes left to have to line up to so I fit the trim then drilled new holes.  In the end with a little bit of work they came out tight and clean to the body.  If I could have found a good set or originals though I would have polished them and used them instead.
