anybody have any suggestions of a coating to put on a polished intake manifold that would protect the finish but withstand the temp. was thinking about having it powder coated clear but i don't think it would hold up to the high temp of the manifold. thanks Stick.

a good automotive clear coat after being sandblasted.

my engine is painted with Single stage PPG hemi orange paint, and i've painted quite a few other engines with either single stage or base clear and they still look like new. no discoloration, gasoline doesn't eat it, its just the way to go if you ask me.

After I paint my engines I spray them with a coat of Dupli-Color Engine Enamel - DE 1636 Clear.   It's a ceramic paint rated at 500 degrees.   It also makes it easier to keep the engine clean.   Oil firm and dirt wipe right off.

I got an intake from chryco to acomadate, my ramcharger set up.  He said I should clean it up and clear or paint it.  I had never herd of clearing it.  I blasted it cleared it and it has held up great.  I just put a new master cylinder on the 73, I cleared it prior to instalation, I wish I had done the same with the 68.  The 68 needed a new master cylinder, I just put it on last year and it is already showing rust :brickwall:
