Question about Challengers

I was looking at some Challenger pictures, and I noticed, SOME '71s have the wide trim on the front of the hood and fenders, but most have the narrow trim.  Is there anything special about the wider trim, or was it just another option?  Personally, I think the wide trim looks a lot better.

Somebody on the cud challenger site can answer that better, but I think that was the California trim package?  Not sure why they called it that, but I think they are harder to find thean the thinner trim.

It was an optional appearance package and it is a lot rarer than the standard moulding.

It's an optional trim. Very rare and worth a lot of money.

I have never heard of any California Trim package but that doesn't mean anything.  It's a long time since I was into E-bodies and whatever tiny bits I may have known about them were erased by beer a long time ago.  There was a Western Sport Special but IIRC it was more of a stripped down model (could be wrong though).
That's also not to say that a California regional dealers association didn't put together some kind of trim special and market it that way.

I don't like the wider trim at all.  I think the narrower trim looks ALOT better.

Here are a couple I blatantly swiped from the Cuda-Challenger forum.  It's been installed on a 73, but you still get the effect.   It's a nice looking car btw, isn't it?

That is a nice car, but that trim doesnt look very good.  My vote goes to the narrow trim.

i cant hardley even see the trim cause my eyes keep going to the upside down emblem on the hood!!

This question is totally out of left field but Is that the correct park position for the wipers?

Mine don't come out far enough and set in all the way to the cowl.

No it isn't, they are parked too far out.
