Do you guys know off any good sites where I can get some information on 3rd gen chargers? I may be looking at a 71 today and can't find much more than the vin codes of the different trim levels.

I spend most of my time on this site or on Pete's 3rd gen site.  (signature link)

Moparts is a joke, I only go there to advertise things for sale.   :D

I talked to the guys wife and she didn't know anything about it. I did a reverse look up on the phone number and drove by to try to see if I could spot it. I didn't see anything so it must be at another location. I think 71 chargers look really good. Wouldn't mind picking it up if its decent... I want to get something with a nice body that doesn't need much work, and I can just focus on the fun stuff  :drive: I will definitely get some pictures if its something I want to look at.

Thats the car we'd all like to start out with.   :P  Unfortunately  for you, the 71s always seem to be the most popular of the 3rd gens so they are usually priced a little higher.

Speaking of price lets say it was a base model charger with a 318 (no engine), rust free, and only minor dents...what is that worth (think Arizona market not Midwest market). Just so I know the low end if its something I want to buy.

I have no idea of Arizona, but we bought a completely rust free body, nothing else, for 1000 about 4 years ago. I'd say atleast 3k...

I was looking at completed listings on ebay...does 2-3K seem about right?

I didn't buy it. It went for 1200. Heres some pictures:

Wish I had the cash for it right then and there.  I may offer him about 1500 and see if he'll budge

I have quite a few 71 Chargers.  I have one in better shape than the one you posted.  It's in Mesa, AZ.  That car looked like a really good deal for $1,200.00.

I got the one in my pic with a new 383 and rebuilt trans for 3,000. Deals like that don't come around very often. Personally I think there are better bodys out there to start with. I have seen a few clean 318 cars on ebay and the internet for descent money.

Interested in getting rid of any?
