1967-70 Charger Chiltons Book

I wasn't satisfied with the responses I got at the '70 Charger site.
I bought a 1967-70 Charger Chiltons Book, it is 10-1/2"x6" and very thin. It is a 1982 reprint!
I thought it was going to be one of those big Chilton books. I paid $43. Did I get a good deal?
Is this a sought after book? Which is more rare, the big book, or this small version?
I have never seen these small ones, how many are out there?

It's pretty useless as a repair manual but I've got an old copy laying around someplace also.

I didn't get it to use as a repair manual, I've got the service manual.
I got it to display in my trunk at shows because I thought it was a rare item.
I am asking, (stay with me now)
1: Did I get a good deal
2: Is this small book a rare/sought after item
3: Should I return it and look for the large book.......

I've got the same book.

It's got a green '69 on the cover.

I've seen them bring over $100 on Ebay.

I paid 5 Bucks for mine several years ago.

I still think I got took...

If you want every little detail expained get the factory service manual from Chrysler. It is maybe 5-600 pages and shows EVERYTHING. I paid like 60 bucks on eBay a few years ago....it was for a 70. That little chiltons is for the novice and has just your basic info.

If people are paying 100 bucks for that book on e-bay then they deserve to pay that much.  You can find copies at swap meets for many many dollars less than that (15-25 usually).

I have bought and flipped a few on eBay. The most I received for one was $65 for a 1st print and cheapest was $35. I would not be surprised if a few went for more when a couple people really want one, but the conditions have to be just right.

I did not know that these SMALL books existed!
When I bought this one, I didn't know it was the SMALL book
I realized it was the SMALL book when I received it and also found out it was a 1982 REPRINT not a 1971 original
I paid $43 for this SMALL reprint
This is a SMALL book, not the LARGE book
Did I pay too much for this SMALL book?
Is it a rare find or are there many of these SMALL books out there?

I have a hard cover version in a greasy & well used, condition. The guy I bought my first '69 Charger from in 1981 gave it to me with the car. I kept it because I thought it was pretty cool to have, but as far usefulness goes, it very basic & not that detailed. The service manuals are somewhat better, but Chilton books were never as detailed as them.

If you really want one of these as a collectible, I'd say $43 isn't so bad, but then again, it isn't the deal of the century based on some of the prices others have paid. Personally I wouldn't leave it on display in your trunk. If some people will pay over $100 for one, then it'll grow legs the first time you aren't looking. (Chris, Just 6T9 Charger is right.)

One thing though, back then when these books were first printed, there wasn't anything really available for Mopars. These books did have some useful info, & also had things like VIN code decoders for the year, the engine, & such. Chebby guys had everything.
