Are there any places that sell new water pump housings with the outlet on the passenger side?  I really want an aluminum one, but I cannot find one for the life of me, not even Summit has them.   It seems that not many cars had the configuration I have.  Are there any disadvantages to having the inlet and outlet on the radiator on the same side?

check the other water pump thread ron said to try 440source.com hope that helps.

Since 73 all housings are with pasenger side outlet. Maybe is that the reason why you don't find... is not a "performance" year.

Im not sure of theres a difference in performance or not but when you order and aftermarket radiator cant you get the outlets on whichever side you want?  Thats what I plan to do so I havent been worried about which side its on.   :scratchchin:

440 Source only has the ones for Driver side outlet.  I have a big block (400) in my Charger, looks like I'm going to have to go with a factory one.

I don't think oulet is really performance related, just a different year setup. Since 73 manufacturers don't consider 73 as a performance year, then they probably don't take care about later models

I do have a '72 Chrysler radiator, where the outlet is on the driver side.  Would there be any problem to change to this one if I decide to do an aluminum water pump housing?  I'm concerned about all the power steering and things like that getting in the way.

if you go with radiator and water pump change then you will need to change the steering pump brackets and seatbelt setup for the pre-72 ones. In fact will need also the fan iddler pulley.

on pre 72 setup ( with A/C ) the compressor/alternator belts runs the same. Steering pump use a belt just for it and water pum/fan use another different one just for that. For this reason waterpum/fan needs an iddler pulley
