Im going to spray my car this winter and id Like to find some fiberglass bumpers that i could just spray silver instead of rechroming the bumpers. Does anyone know of anyone that makes them?  Maybe a hood and too...Ive been looking around on here since the site crashed but i just now finally got around to making a name again.  Thanks for any help. a link to a website would be perfect.

wsracing.com.... Great I am not sure about 73 but they had one for my 70

ALSO, you you want it to look chrome and be fiberglass.  I ASK becasue there is a guy on MOPARTS that has done some up that shine like chrome.....

If so LMK i will get his info for you.

Thanks guys. i think im going to go with just the front bumper and maybe a bulge hood.  How hard is it to prep fiberglass for paint? And yea id like to find out what that guy did to make them shine like that.  They have some spray chrome rattle can stuff that i saw but i doubt if that would look okay.

A paint person here maybe able to tell you what he does.  His is not the spray can.  LET ME GO FIND HIS WEB SITE I WILL BE RIGHT BACK.

Take a look at this site.   FOR MY 70 Fiberglass bumper he wanted bout $160-180 or so..... I do not yet have it ready but I may do this if I dont paint it to match the car.   HIS NAME... Wayne.

Also,  this price was it I wet sanded it with 1000 grit.

Holy crap! font and rear 4lbs each 100$ each! you sir are my hero.  are the stock chrome bumpers over 50lbs?  What does gell coat finish mean? more work to do?

cudaken

Hey sand, great to see you back on line.

Gell coat finish mean's that is what is laid in the mold first then the glass mat is laid over the top of it. Gell coat is close to paint, will need to be primer and blocked sanded so make super straight but for a bumper I would not mess with it.

Hit it with some 400 grit paper and is ready to be sealed and painted. Paint it the color of the Charger, I like mine that way.

You are just asking for problems if this car will be street driven.

cudaken

KMPX2, I think Sand is about ready to make the jump to all out race Charger. If I remember right he was into the 12's when the old site crashed.

For a person his age he would smoke most of us old guys.

Yea the car is only going to see street time going to cruise nights and what not.  The wieght is getting pretty important. Ken, im very excited to see your car that far.  Have you driven it yet? give me an update!

Hey Sand, well the latest up date? I am afraid to start it ;D

Boy, I think you have missed some of the horror stories I have had with that motor. Keep find stuff I did not like. It has now been rebulit 3, yes 3 times and never started! Must be a Truck 440, all it does is ride around in the back off Dodge Pick Up trucks. ;D

Did you see the part where the motor mount lug got broke off the left side of the block?  Had a custom mount made and that fixed. Then there was the problem with the stock intake for break in, missing the choke stove well. Had a bunch of people tell me there would not be a exhaust leak. Hum that did not sound right and ran a 20" wire down the cross over in to the headers. Think that might leak?

Got that fixed with a Felpro 1215 valley pan, $50.00 for 500 miles? ;D Then the thottle cable would stick? Found the kickdown was rubbing on the M/T Valve cover? Give me a break been running M/T's for 25 years but this is the first stock intake I have ever installed.

While I was messing with the kick down I pulled the valve cover, guess what I found? Rocker arm's where bone dry! Boy that make me fell good, Rick the last shop that did the 440 said there was no reason to preoil the 440.

Begaining to see why I am afraid to start it? ;)

Only thing left is to hook up the coil wire and find someome to help me start it. Want some to watch the oil pressure and water temp during break in. Doing anything Sunday? ;D Only a 4.5 hour drive for you. :icon_smile_big:

Pussy Ken, afraid to start it again!

HA ha oh man, Pull the motor out and bring it up here! I got a job over the summer at at engine shop called opel engineering. my boss is a mopar guy and, we have an engine dyno! (not bad for an 18 year olds 2nd job eh?)
so did you prime it after that? hell just pour some oil on the rockers and fire it up! oil will eventually get there right?
Look at the bright side, as you go on the problems are getting less and less expensiveand time consuming!
