Dark silver paint on 69 charger grille question....

I did a search and found that most people are using argent silver paint for the silver part of the grilles.  When the non textured Grille silver paint I got from Totally Auto was sprayed out on a sample piece, it was a lot lighter than the dark silver on the grille.  What is the general consensus on the silver part of the grille to be correct?  Light silver or dark silver?  I am starting to prep the grille so it will be ready for the TDC show in Gettysburg and would like to only have to paint it once and do it right the first time.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is on a 69, and am pretty sure they are suppose to be silver.. Trick is getting the flat parts black...
I went with the semi shiney, and came out looking good..

No, the top of the verticle and horizontal bars are not painted silver and is just a glare showing from the angle the picture was taken.  I know they are supposed to be semi flat black.

The question is should the silver be a light silver or a dark silver?  The dark gray almost seems to be like the brake caliper gray that Eastwood sells and the Totally Auto grille silver seems to light but has the right amount of metallic in it.

Eastwood's Argent Wheel paint looks good also.

I  went to paint my grill argent and the new can was no good    I had a can of Wal- Mart Color Place rust resistant  silver-  since I was prepped and a new can was days away I tried it and it was a better match to the original than the one argent shot I got out. I still plan to do the argent but it may be a while, I'll see how the cheap holds up.

My 1968 Charger had the dark look. But when I removed the emblem on the headlight door it exposed light silver paint behind it on the vertical fin. It appeared that the paint thinned out from wind burn, or whatever ageing and looked darker because you were seeing more of the base under the silver rather than a solid coat of silver. The paint had actually aged to a darker appearance.

I agree-  Jim Shine is right the silver fades to dark or wears off to a darker color
