Well my exhaust that's been in rough shape since i got my car decided to fall apart today, so I guess I need to replace it sooner than I had planned on (this winter.)  What I wanted to know was what systems fit and sound best for the money?  Im on a tight budget and I don't know whether it might be cheaper to just have a muffler shop bend some 3" pipe and do it custom?  Let me know what you guys have done, thanks

I get mine done local, but if you have headers, and want cheap. its either summit or jegs that sells their own house brand exhaust system for around the 250 dollar mark. i know some exhaust shops wont touch a car unless they can make 500 so that is really up to you i guess.

I dont like headers so i pretty much have to pay more to get the custom bent stuff.

Theres a general auto repair shop around here that does excellent exhaust work.  My exhaust on my blazer was falling apart and they cut it around the driver foot area and ran duals to the back and out the sides.  All custom made with turbo mufflers and it cost me just under $200.  Sometimes if you shop around or talk to people local you can find a good place like that.  My muffler of choice is Magnaflow though.  They will be going on my car when its exhaust time.

those magnaflow turbo mufflers sound excellent, we just installed them on a firebird we're working on at the shop.

3" is kinda big for a stock motor, even a stock BB. I would go with 2". :Twocents:
73' Dodge Rallye Charger 400/4BBL
06' Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4X4 HEMI
15' Dodge Dart 2.7 SXT

i didnt know it was a stock motor. 3" will kill your torque. maybe go with 2.25 and 2.5" tips?

engine is a 383 with an edelbrock semi high rise manifold and edelbrock 750 carb.  rebuilt, unknown whether bore is stock, I'd assume it is. The exhaust that was on was stock manifolds, 2.25" pipes, glass packs, 3.5" tips.

i have 2 1/2 pipes off the headers, thrush turbo mufflers and 2 1/2 inch pipes that turn down by the rear axle-was cheap and did it in my driveway, but i am planning on putting a full length exhaust and exit out the rear soon
