Strangely my choice might be the same.  As much as I've bashed the Charger, in Hellcat form my choices would be Charger, Challenger, then Viper.  In SRT form it goes Challenger, Charger and Viper and in base model it likely goes Viper, Challenger then Charger.  I don't know why.  :shruggy:

War wagon

If it was in my budget I'd have the Viper with supercharger please LOL
And a 40ft motor home with enclosed trailer so I can spend my dying days living the dream at the track
What a machine!
Think about it for a sec.... MORE power than the Hellcat and at least 1000lbs less weight to move...... Is this the first 9 sec factory car????????!
It's gotta be close!!!!

I believe the Veyron did it in 9.9.  The Viper will be hundreds of thousands of dollars cheaper though.

JB400

People have a hard enough time driving a 450 hp. Viper.  What makes them think the public can get a hold on 800 hp.?   The thought of having all those ponies at the command of the right foot sounds cool though.

Ghoste

Shouldn't take long for some to turn up totalled.

wingcar

Hard to choose which car I would rather kill myself in.......perhaps the Viper.... :vert: :engel016:
1970 Daytona Charger SE "clone" (440/Auto)
1967 Charger (360,6-pak/Auto)
2008 Challenger SRT8 BLK (6.1/Auto) 6050 of 6400

I imagine not too many people are going to get their hands on these cars anyway...

Sat in a new Viper a couple weeks ago. I was able to fit in it.   Price aside, I would still take it over the Challenger or Charger.   It is still quite a car.

Old Moparz

I'd easily pick the Challenger over the Charger, but I've always liked the Viper & would probably choose it if money weren't an issue.

I know I wouldn't, but I wouldn't rule out putting a Hellcat drive train in it.

I could see some people doing it.  More likely the celebrity types who need to always have the latest fad.

Uh...... no.   At least I wouldn't be one of them.     ;D

I do know someone who sold their wing cars to buy Vipers.   Was thinking about that yesterday.     I don't think it has worked out so well, at least from a used car value standpoint.

Enjoyment of the new car is one thing.    But these are new cars and they are going to depreciate.   Are you willing to throw away half your equity?

Wing car for a Hellcat?  Not in my book; I don't care what Chrysler comes up with; nothing can match the aura of a wing car...

I can't see myself ever spending the money for any of the modern exotics.  You can get most of the speed in a more practical package with a 10yo used Corvette.

The 45yo classic hot rods get my money for other reasons besides just speed.

It's called traction control... the original Vipers never had any traction control leading to almost instant wreck the minute the driver hit the gas
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

My taste in cars is a bit stuck with the muscle cars.  When the viper came around it didn't move me much. I would like to drive one to see how it feels but owning one is not me. If money was not an issue I still wouldn't buy one.

I can see getting into the exotics for those with money and the lust for the g forces that can be had on a track. And then there are those (with extra money) that just want to wear the car like a piece of jewelry. I get that too.

For me the challenger fits my muscle car urges. The retro look and understated presence is a nice blend.  That this car can run with a lot of cars that cost much more is a plus. :2thumbs:

:2thumbs:They were sorta like the 427 cobra.  Step on the gas at 90mph and the car will go sideways. (which way?). It's a lot of car for the average driver and many were wrecked.

Highbanked Hauler

would sure take the drive ability out of it. :rotz:
