Change it before you end up with your fan in your radiator.

3 bolts in a trans mount , 1 big 3/4 cross bolt & 2 5/8 vertical bolts into the trans tailhousing , you wil need a jack to hold the trans up while the mount is out
using a Poly mount may be the best choice , you need to reuse the metal part of the mount & heat it to remove the rubber bushing , the poly mount just slide into the metal mount

What if you are using solid engine mounts? Would a urathane mount not be recomended for the trans mount?
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

if the engine cannot move the stiffer trans mount should be a good idea

rt green

yes. if you are using solid mounts for your engine, you should use a brand new stock mount for your trans mount. the thing has to flex somewhere. poly might be a little stiff.  my 2 cents

if the tranny mount is bad it will cause the engine to shake more right?

Chryco Psycho

sometimes , or the tail of the tranny may jump sideways under load

if the engine is shaking badly with solid mounts is it shaking the whole car? it would seem to me that if the engine shakes badly with solid motor mounts that it is misfiring?

deathcharger71

they arnt solid mounts, just the normal ones you get at pep boys. the angine shakes around and moves to the right a lot under acceleration. but i put it in gear in the driveway and gave it gas with my foot on the brake and the mount did not move. so its either just a really loose mount or its the tranny mount. the reason i suspect the tranny mount is bad is because i drove for a while with a bad engine mount and my engine hitting the hood and all the fun stuff so i assume that put a lot of stress on the tranny mount....

did the tranny mount solve your problem.  i think iam experiencing the same problem.
