...and it wouldn't start!  After flooding the engine trying to start it for the first time this year, we checked the distributer cap and plug wires and found corrosion on half of them!  Not sure how this happened as it was in a clean, dry barn with a cover.  Anyone ever had this happen?  The engine (440) is basically brand new.  Had to replace the Mallory cap and some wires.

Also, the carb (speed demon 750) was just draining gas down the secondaries while cranking and after...you could just watch it drip like a siv.  We tried to lower the bowl level and it didn't go down at all (still full to the top), even after we finally got it running and drove it home.  Is it possible something is sticking in the secondary bowl?  It ran rough all the way home..had to turn all 4 idle mixture screws in all the way just to keep an idle.  The carb is almost new also.  On top of that, the carb acted differently as we drove it and now we have to open the screws a 1/2 turn to keep it running.

The local carb shop suggested an Edelbrock AVS 800cfm.   Anyone ever run one of those?

thx,
- Doug

Tapped it and shook it  :yesnod: when we pulled it off to drain it.  I looked through both windows and saw movement in primary and secondary when I turned it upside down.
