Last time I checked photographs were the sole property of the photographer regardless of the subject of the photograph. I think Ford just bit the hand that feeds them...

Ford has been cracking down hard on retailers (I think one was MustangTuning.com) but those are businesses making a profit. That's why it's tough to sell anything with a copyrighted/trademarked name on it because, technically, you are depriving the rightful owner out of profits. Clubs and fan sites are usually under the radar (and left alone) because they provide information and activities to promote the brand without competing for money. As soon as you start selling stuff (without permission) it gets ugly. I still don't see how Ford can claim to own the pictures as they didn't take them.

Anyone still want a T-shirt?

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

While FOMOCO may be within its legal rights to tell the BMC to knock it off, actually doing so is just beyond stupid.  :flame:

I couldn't find a Black Mustang Calendar on the Ford website anywhere. Not a one.   ::)

Sounds like a different version of the same crap DCX was doing a few years ago regarding some of the repop Charger parts being made. ::)
Too many lawyers, not enough common sense. :rotz:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Ford IMO can take their Mustangs and shove them up their a$$es :Twocents:

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Forza

Wow of all the people Ford could go after they choose a non-profit enthusiest club? I'm guessing their future name will be the Black Challenger Club in a couple years.

bull

I guess Ford would rather pay for its advertising than get it for free.

I took a picture of a Mustang at a car show and then got a paper cut on my finger and its infected now and I missed work due to the terrible pain and then lost my job and have suffered mental/emotional stress from it all. I think I'll sue Ford. Its thier picture that did it!! They should be more careful about their pictures and have some safety features built in!

The article has been updated.  The Mustang Club now has permission to print the calendars and it appears that (at least as far as the update goes) that it was basically all a misunderstanding between Ford and Cafepress.

It is beyond crazy to think that you wouldn't even be able to publish pictures of your own car.  And yes Troy, I want a T-Shirt  :2thumbs:  (Window Stickers would be nice too)

Whew! Sanity prevails. Now I won't have to refuse to buy a Ford GT anymore.
