Random swap meet, random Chrysler grille, help shed some light!

I saw this two piece grille at a swap meet today and I thought it was something that it wasn't. I offered 20$, the guy hemmed and hawed for a moment, said that it wasn't his to sell, but okay. I went back later to look for more parts and when the guy recognized me he whispered in the previous grille owner's ear. They proceeded to glare at me and I backed away slowly. I went back hoping to pick up what I actually needed but when I asked for center consoles, the previous owner said, "yeah I have lots of consoles, but none are for sale for you". So I left. Yeah he was a jerk, but perhaps only because I got one hell of a deal. But I don't know that because I cant figure out what this is. Maybe you guys can help.

I'll take a stab at it  .....Looks like they're from a 1970 or 71 Chrysler Newport  I'm almost positive they're from an early 70's C-Body.

Does look like a cuda grill. What was that guys problem, you didn't steal it from him, his buddy sold it to you. He needed to be po'd at him. He was a jerk for sure!

I thought Cuda' and that's why I picked it up, but upon further inspection it isn't. At least as far as I can tell. I think it may actually be earlier than 1967. I have a Chilton's that goes back to 67 and I don't see it in there.

You got some nice grills for $20 bucks  , as for the seller, he didn't get hurt bad at all  - and he didn't have to act like a dick about it

For $20 you can't go wrong, but try looking on ebay to see what a Newport grille goes for. I'd be willing to bet it won't get more than $50 & probably have 6 people watching the auction if you're lucky. I'm not ranking on Newports, I love C-Body cars & had a '73 New Yorker. I just think there isn't going to be much demand on it & demand is what drives up prices.
