My Tonneau cover went flying today

Well I woke up late today, but only like 10 minutes late, which is not bad since I get to work 30 minutes early to beat the rush. On top of that we have a storm system in our area which has rain and wind, lucky today so far no rain. The winds on the other hand started out like 20 mph and went up to 50mph nice huh, and guess what we are out doing maintenance while this is all going on. Everything is going great all day until the end of our work day. The civilian's that we work with were yelling and screaming about something, come to find out they wanted me for some reason.

Come to find out that my tonneau cover for my truck somehow jiggled itself unlocked and the wind caught it and ripped it right off the truck. I guess it really felt like flying today and on its way down back to the ground it landed like a foot away from a guy's truck nice huh. Well we got it down stairs and looked it over; the right side of the cover is wasted not fixable which really sucks, the paint is not really fixable either.

For now I have everything that I had in the back of the truck in the house and I have the insurance claim person meeting me on Wednesday so I may get this fix before we both leave for Alaska this weekend to get married, hopefully everything will work out.

Talk to ya all later

So which is worse, losing your tonneau cover or the fact that everyone saw it and now your in danger of getting a nickname like windy or sailor? :D

Hey sailor, I had the bedliner fly out of a work truck one day, on the freeway...right in front of a Kenworth, who proceeded to wedge it under his front bumper & drag it a 1/4 mile. I was just glad it didn't land on someone's car, obstructing their vision.

                         ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Well a nickname from that I really don't think so, for one I am already a sailor, and the other my nickname is Nick.

oh well, it did it's purpose for the time being, I've been thinking to put a softtop one on there now and a tailgate lock and all.
