I hate to recite an old saying but it's appropriate, "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is."

ok so I originally asked two guys about building one for around the same price and it looks like they work together, here is what the second one says:
"Hello yes that includes a Car, our address is 3142 North 17th Terre Haute Indiana 47804. We have two to three guys that help us build these cars. My parterner Andy Lee is the website/designer, I do the engines interior, and Joe does restoration and paint. Some replica's sell for $30,000 to $45,000 some even up to $75,000. We have a 2 bay garage we restore the car, then it goes to joe's body shop. We can do a contract agreement signed by myself and Andy Lee so that we are both protected. We try to do the Best Job possible and feel we are one of the best companies oppose to pricing and getting the job done fast. We can do some other Custom things such more performance and a few custom options for $25,000 but meaning roll bar and a little extra crome here and there. Here is my phone number 1-812-236-7609 a good time to call me is 10:00 a.m. on Apirl 5th. Thank you very much for your interests and let me know when you want to get started. Building process takes 6-8 weeks with $15,000 down, and 4-6 with the full $22,000. Well if you have anymore questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer take care.

Darrin Cooper

P.S. Let me know when you are ready to buy and I can have a contract ready after we speek on the phone thanks. Also one last thing word of mouth or if you sell one of these replicas we can knock a couple thousand off like any replica's you sell We could give you a couple of thousand for helping promote our new business."

significantly rust free chargers are hard to find in Indiana.  I know.   :-\

Six to eight weeks?! They're saying they can restore a Charger in two months or less and do a good job?!

Chyea, I wouldn't go anywhere near that place.

lets take 3 guys working 8 hours a day for 5 days a week and this 6 to 8 weeks long, that makes 720 to 960 man hours to complete a resto.
If you would only count the 22K for labour, no parts, those guys would be working for $22 to $30 / hour.
The parts are free ???  :brickwall:

paironines, I've seen many Paintjobs cost over $22,000. Worked at a place where a guy had over $100,000 just in paint & bodywork on his black 90's something Trans am. Yeah, I know, Insane & unbeleivable. LEON.

22k for just a paint job?  I don't think so.....  ::)

Just the quality body and paint jobs cost $20k.

First thing I'd do at this point is ask them for some customer references. Try to get some opinions about the work from some former customers (that aren't their beer drinking buddies).

Hmmm, Something sound's funny/fishy to me. Thought they wanted $15,000 down? To much. Now say delivery 4 weeks after receiving the $24,000. I say you never pay off the car or the entire amount before the car is ever completed or picked up. BIG MISTAKE. I'd ask to see referances of past satisfied customers, Pictures of past completed projects & see one in Person before forking over any Cash. Sounds like Russian Rulette otherwise to me. LEON.

mikepmcs

I agree with Hemi H on this one.

I did that, half up front, half when complete and then picked up the car and was a little(i mean little, no malice here cause i'm happy I got my 69)
The body work and paint could have been better IMO.

If they can build the car, then they have the car.  I say build the car or 2 in the timeframe.. ready for the customer to see and approve, then buy.

Actually, now that I think about it, isn't it a law or something that you can't use a person's money to complete said car.

The guy I bought mine from was honest and I knew it from the get go, so I had no hesitation cause I knew I'd get it, but just something to think about.  Where's Vainglory right about now?
