I did a search and just come up with more questions than i had ::)
I am getting ready to rebuild the front end on my 72' ,and I have already replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends and idler arm last summer.I got all new bushings ,ball joints, tubular upper a arms, and all the disc brake components.my power steering gearbox is wor out.I thought about just trying to get a replacement from somewhere, and then I see all this stuff on using C body piman arms and Idlers(to speed up the ratio).I have a 75 new yorker that has a good box on it along with a 76 fury.Would either of those boxes work on my 72?I thought i read that the 73 and later boxes utilize the bigger shaft for the idler arm correct?so i could then use either box and get a cheaper idler arm than the 130.00$ that are required for the older box. anyone got some opinions?I am trying to keep this a lowbuck upgrade if possible.thats why i wondered about using the boxes i have layn around
thanks guys

Jackel,  You believe you are correct, that the 73 and up use a bigger arm.  Check out http://www.firmfeel.com/ .  They do have a lot of decent information on the site.  Good luck with the rebuild.

I will have to try and surf over ther sometime when i am home.I can't get there while i'm at work.I can only go to places that have Dodge jeep or chrysler in the web title. :brickwall:
Darn Daimlerchrysler computers at work here have so many stinkn firewalls and stuff i can't see hardly any pics either.
I am definately interested in maybe swapping one of these gearboxes i got if i'm sure it will fit :scratchchin:
