Are 71 Coronet and Charger side marker lights the same? I sure hope so, because I found a set for cheap!

I know they look the same, but i thought they were different. Pretty sure they will be stamped on back 2 dr (charger) or 4dr (coronet)  Its been a long time since I had a 71.

Diagrams only states CORONET and doesn't states CHARGER. Text section shows some difference ??? dunno, so I can be wrong

They are diffrent, If i remember right the charger ones have a curve to them.  My son found a set at a swap meet and compared them to some charger ones and they were not the same.  To just look at them you would swear they would work.

The resto guide says:

"In 1971 the front marker lamps were physically changed. The Charger used a large square lens and housing unit. The front was lsited as part number 3579153, which was amber, and the rear was listed as part number 3579153 (!?) which was red. They were covered by a body coloured bezel which divided the lens in half. While those used on the four-door Coronet models look similar, they won't correctly interchange."

Hope this helps.

No. The black plastic housings on the  charger lights say "2 Door". and the coronet ones say "4 Door".
