Not getting fuel, help please

My 73 Charger (400 motor) is ready to run, but for some reason im not getting any fuel at all.  I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, rubber hoses in the front, blew out the gas line with the air hose.  I think I have tried everything.  I even tried reversing the hoses on the fuel pump just incase it was reversed somehow, but no luck.  When I blow into the hose I can hear bubbles in the tank so I know the line is open... I dont know what else to try?

to get it to prime you can blow in the tank with an air blower partially sealed with a rag , do this while someone cranks the gine over ive done this before and had success but be carful not to put in too much pressure

How do you get it out?  Ive never done that before

When you remove the fuel pump, you'll see a sort of freeze plug just below where the pump goes into the block.  Remove this plug and slide the pump drive out.  You will of course, need a new one toreplace it with.

What sucks is no one stocks these parts, so i'll probably have to wait another day before I can get the part after I special order it.

Well heres what happened...

I decided the fuel pump was a little different, it didnt look exactly the same when they were side by side so I took it back. Sure enough, they had put in the wrong box. And didnt have the other box it should have been in. So I was going to have to wait until Tuesday to get a new one... Screw that.

So I pulled a fuel pump from my other car with a 400. Didnt work either. I got pissed and bought an electric one. Finished hooking it up right as it was getting dark, but it works! Turned the key, and fired it up!

Tomorrow I am going to go over everything and see what else it needs now. I already found a leak in the heater control valve (more like it was corroded beyond repair) and bypassed it for now. Whats the downside to doing that?

So a new pump and also a known good used pump do NOT work on your 400. I would have to ask, (with my teeth clinched), is there a fuel pump push rod in your motor??

Well the new pump turned out to be the wrong one, close but not the same.  Apparently the morons at the parts store switched the boxes somehow.  The box it originally came from was gone too, so someone else out there also has the wrong pump.      The one that was in the car when i got it didnt seem to do anything, and neither did the one from my other 400 motor....  but that isnt saying much because my other motor hasnt been ran in 10+ years.  The push rod is there though...  I was just fed up with the whole issue, plus I didnt want to have to wait until Tuesday.  With my luck it would be back to blizzard conditions again if I waited.     Besides I want to test drive this car tomorrow.     First time driving a 3rd gen in 7 years...  Im ready!
