Do I need to have the keys to remove ignition lock?

My shipper lost the keys, and until I get replacements, can I just remove the ignition barrel and turn the mechanism with a screwdriver? I've managed to get the plug off the back, but don't want to mess with 'hotwiring'..

There's a little brass coloured pin, poking through the ignition barrel housing, but can't get it to depress of remove the barrel. Help guys!
I'd rather push a Charger than drive a Mustang.. which is lucky..

The switch has to be turned to the ON position to depress the pin.

I would make the shipper pay for a locksmith to come out and make keys for it.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Smash it with a hammer but that kinds of defeats the purpose.  A good locksmith may be able to come up with something.

Try removing the drivers door lock cylinder, most of the time the key code is on the drivers door lock cylinder. If the code is there just have a locksmith cut a new key by code. If the code is not there, the drivers door lock cylinder can be disassembled by a locksmith and
the tumblers and drivers measured (decoded) and a new key can be cut...This is assuming that the door locks use the same key.
The code will look like EP****

Thank you sir, I'll try that and get back to you...

No key number on the drivers door lock, I think I'll just get the shipper to buy a new full set, and pop the ignition barrel so I can try the electrics in the mean time.
