     OK, So Manciniracing.com is now offering the new EFI setup for the Magnum crate motors from "Mopar Performance".  The part that I find funny is that they use the same picture that they use for the Edelbrock LA motor EFI setup.  I could understand that if they didn't have a picture, but why is it exactly the same price? ($2,695.00).  I know I e-mailed Edelbrock several times over the past few years since they came out with the LA series EFI, and asked why not drill their manifold for Magnum motors.  (The only response that I got was that they were not looking into it.)  The Mopar Action articles seem to show different parts, and I think that they would be able to save a few bucks with some factory parts, so why the price fix if they are not the same thing?  Also, the Mopar unit is supposedly non programable, but the Edelbrock comes with a calibration module?  Even if they are the same thing, I see no reason to support Mopar Performance, just because they slap their sticker on someone elses project.  I guess I just have to call Mancini tomorrow to find out.

   This MP system was partially devloped on E-berg's Saavy Savoy and runs pretty sweet which I can personally attest to.

    It has nothing to do with Edelbrock.

Then why is it exactly the same price? ???

Marketing  ::)

MP = bolt on and go with factory tune.    Some people WILL pay more for that convenience.

Edelbrock =  Bolt on and then you tune it.   Some people want to tune it themselves - like you.

I doubt many people will find a more cruiser friendly tune on a car than Rick's Savoy.   Hit the key and it's running at 900 rpm hot or cold,  doesn't stall, etc.   It's his favorite fair weather cruiser.  And it's pretty dam good at the track considering 2.94 gears and street tires.
