After a long nine year nap :o I finally started her up today. Holy crap it was cool!!! :icon_smile_tongue: I have video of it idling, it sounded even better than I remembered. What a rush, I wont be able to sleep tonite.

I still can't believe it started and ran pretty good. I actually drove it down the road. It's still gonna need alot of work but this was a great start, literally. I parked it in 1998 and haven't started it until today. New gas+filter, new oil+filter, fluids, and new battery and some starting fluid spray.

I'll hopefully have it completely road worthy by spring.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Well, I'm planning on running about a tank of new gas through it just idling and stuff because it's still kinda rough. It seems to idle good for about 4 minutes and then rpms drop really low and it sounds like it's gonna cut off(sometimes does) then it picks back up. Maybe there was still alittle of the old gas in the system. Or could the mixture be off?

:icon_smile_big: I am glad to hear that it fired that easy,, It has been that long for mine as well,,I hope it starts as easy as yours did...it was 1998 when we bought this house and i put in the garage,,it ran long enough to get off of the flatbed and drive it in.....

This is the first year I might be able to start working on it again...Looking at all of these cool pics sure gives a guy some incentive.... :2thumbs:

Cool. It probably would have been a good idea to drain the tank first. Sounds you eventually will be rebuilding the carb or at least clean your bowl out. Im sure the old gas dried and coated the inside of the bowl and with new fuel it will disolve the varnish and plug some things. Nice 3rd gen.  :2thumbs:

I did drain the tank, and the lines first. But it's  the same old plugs.
