Continuing my trip back to California (see thread http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,2141.0.html), I spotted a 1969 Purple Charger being towed on a trailer (what else is there to do but look for muscle cars, anyway?), about 2:00 pm local time in Nebraska. Is it yours? What is the story? We drove 9 hours today, from North Platte to Salt Lake City, and that was a highlight. I did see a R/T on a car carrier heading west last week, same highway, so I guess it balances out.

I don't know of any purple 69s around here, let aone with a wing.  Whereabouts on I-80 did you see it?

Ghost,

I just got back home (a rant is in the making regarding people, their driving habits and road conditions...everywhere but California is good). Lets see...we left North Platte in the morning, around 8:00 am, and headed to Salt Lake City, arriving around 6:00 pm. Allowing for fuel and food stops, that would put us in... Wyoming. Duh!   :-\ Sorry about that. Near as I can figure we were about halfway through the state when the sighting occured. Sorry Ghost (just for laughs sake, where in "hell" are you?).

The wing was black, mounted on the trunk, and looked liked it belonged. So, anyone in Wyoming know of this car? For all I know it may be in D.C. right now.

Yep, we went right by you two days ago. Nice state...we surprised our daughter with a 3-hour stop at the Omaha Zoo. Very nice complex. Picked up a foulball rolling down the parking lot at the zoo from Rosenblatt Stadium. We have good memories of the trip through your state. And I will take your people and roads ANYTIME! We had a good trip until we got back into California. Ugh.

Yea, the Henry Doorly Zoo is pretty impressive.  The Desert Dome is the largest indoor desert habitat in the world, I believe.  And, of course, the Lied Jungle was it's first major attraction.  It is one of the largest indoor jungles in America.

Thank you. The Henry Doorly Zoo, of course. We were very impressed. My 5-year daughter, who knows more about animals than I do, was a happy camper (it was a surprise visit). We did not see the Desert Dome...we were limited on time. But we will bookmark the zoo's website so we can better explore what is there. As long as you are on-line, what are the winters like where you live? I'm just trying to get some perspective as the land looks beautiful now.

The winters are COLD.  We are supposed to get alot of snow, too, but, we've been in a drought for the past couple of years....
