I want to put a new cam and intake on my stock 360. i want it to stay very reliable but get up and go just a little more. I drive this car as much as possible with friends and don't ever plan on taking it to the track, but it's fun to smoke em at a light once and a while. Thanks!!!!

Call them...they'll ask you about your engine...have your info ready and just ask them whatever...

intake=performer rpm air gap, cam will depend on your gears, stall, exhaust, head work, carb.

If you are interested in a "matched" Cam & Intake package, you may also wish to check out Edelbrock.

Surprisingly, their "packages", are very close to what they advertise. We have seen this on the dyno, every time !

Just be careful & don't over-cam it, those 360s were weak on compression, raising the comp. will bring new life to those 360s, ask me how i know  ;)

I raised the comp. on a 360 in my 73 Swinger from 8.1 to 9.4 & with no other changes at all, not even a carb adjustment, went from a 16.23 to 14.7s at 3700ft alt. it just had bolt ons, headers & a 340 MP cam, 391s, it was a slug to say the least with all this stuff & no comp., so its something to think about.  :icon_smile_approve:

I don't want to discurage you, just hate to see you put all your time & effert & be disapointed with the results, remember, BBs have torgue (thats there advantage along with cubes) SBs don't.

I'm so glad that you said that the Edlebrock packages are really close. I wanted it, but I thought I'd ask around first. I plan on doing the heads to the package specs later when I have more money. I plan on putting headers, and X pipe, intake and cam on. I bought the 750 carb last summer. I plan on having more money to spend bc I don't have to get it into running shape. Thanks again!!

I used a Edelbrock Performer RPM package for my 318...I mean 402 SB stroker.  There is a thread here on the build, it also has links to other proven combo's on a 360.

I really am a young guy who really loves to drive and tinker with his car. I like the sb bc I believe that it gives me better gas millage, and I already have the sb, so I'm saving the money on a conversion. I have a stock torque converter, open diff, and 3.23 gears. it is a '74, and I like realiability.
