I don't know how many metalheads there are on this board, but the member Clown from the band Slipknot is selling 4 of his, ratty, bastarized chargers.  I don't know where he bought these, but one has camaro seats in it!  The guy listing them says they have "385's" in them.  Damn, he's makin us look bad!!  :)

Its interesting hes selling them all together, seems like it could be a pretty good deal. I'd love to get a 3rd or 2nd gen but thats gonna be a while. Once I get my '68 sport satellite how I want it and have enough money thats what I'm gonna be looking for  My cousin is a fan of slipknot, I think they call themselves maggots? anyways he would love to own one of those chargers.

jasonfromIKILLYA

yeah, maggots.  I'm actually not a fan of the band.  I think they are way overrated.  There are 9 guys in the band.  That's what happens when you can't get up the balls to tell your buddy you don't really need 3 guitarists.  :)

It looks to me like he got excited when they started getting money and got suckered into buying a bunch of thrashed chargers in the hopes of building one good one and never got around to it.

"385's" you say? the "clown" really is just that! :icon_smile_big:

jasonfromIKILLYA

that's him.  he doesn't actually play anything in the band.  he humps those kegs and hits them with a bat.  that kind of retardation makes us real musicians pretty pissed off.....especially when he's making millions and we're not. :D

I think it's funny that no one is believing that the cars belong to "Clown".... :icon_smile_big:

Yeah my cousin has showed me some of their videos and I don't car for them at all. I always get a laugh out of the guys who really don't play anything and just headbang in the background hit sh** with bats and what not. If there wasn't a reserve It seems like a good deal even if they aren't very original.

jasonfromIKILLYA

yeah, but what are you buying?  they can't give you any good info on the engines.  it can be assumed they are all 914 or 927s and they all have rusted out floorpans and quarters.  I don't know how he was planning to make one good one when all of them are missing the same thing.  :D

Not to jump on Slipknots junk but,
I have to stick up for the Knot and all that is Metal. Clown did not list the Chargers. His friend listed them for him and he is helping the guy out. Clown is moving and selling off some of his Chargers. I get upset when people are ignorant. That may just be his stash of Chargers that he has collected over his lifetime and he just may have other Chargers & Mopars that the public does not even know about. The starting price is low and the  BIN is is so high cause some a-hole may just pay that much. You never know with E-Bay, it is not like that is the reserve price.
As a matter of fact some of the other members of Slipknot are Mopar fans and own Chargers. I really think it is cool that one of the best Metal bands is into Miopars, that is just f-ing cool.
I passed the DC.COM link to the Knot and wanted to spread the word on what a great Charger site Troy has.
I am a drummer and have been into Metal & all styles of good music. In my opinion each member of The Knot adds their own piece to the puzzle of the Slipknot monster. I have seen many metal bands in my lifetime from King Diamond & Metallica to Slayer, Cannibal Corpse & Gwar, & I can tell you that a Slipknot show will kick you in the ass and and leave you feeling that you got more than your $'s worth. They are really talented musicians that had an idea and made it happen. Slipknot brought Metal back to the masses and started a whole new generation of Metal.
If you feel that Slipknot is overrated and that your band can rock harder than Slipknot than I guess you can talk smack. The three guitarists help make the sound that is Slipknot. Maybe you can post an MP3 of your band on your next post
Show some love for The Knot.

I would not throw any stones at the Clown. What do you call hitting kegs with a bat? It may just be theatrics and a form of percussion. Who are you as a musician to judge what Slipknot create as musicans and performers?
Not to rattle your cage but have you ever been to a Slipknot show or listen to their music?

I posted this in the ebay section already... but that doesnt really mean anything at this point.   :P

These cars are about 25 miles up the road from me.  I didnt even know they were there.  Its too bad they are leaving because we need more Chargers around here, especially 3rd gens but hopefully someone local will buy them..  The BIN is way too high for me but that may be what he has in them, its not really anyones place to say what someone can sell their car for.  Who cares if one has Camaro seats?  Who says every car has to be original?  What brand is the battery in your car?  Probably not Mopar...  ;)

Ive seen Slipknot live.  It was a good show, lots of pyro and loud ass music.  The fact that they are from Iowa and own Chargers is definately cool if you ask me.

Drache

The biggest thing I want to know is... where is the proof they ARE Clowns cars? Like the one guy said, just because there is a single picture of clown without his makeup standing next to a single car does not mean they are his. The reason for the high BIN might be that the seller figures that by saying the cars belonged to Clown that they are worth more than normal. IF they are his they might bring higher to normal prices IF they were finished and were seen being driven by Clown along with documentation. One guy asked on ebay if Clown's (real) name was on the titles but the seller never truly answered the question, just skirted it.

Just remember that opinions are like a** hole.... everyones got one! So far this is remaining pretty civil, but I am getting a bad "vibe". Just a friendly reminder that we are all friends. I'm not trying to be a moderator, just a friend! ;D

If you are referring to me, then I apologize to anyone who is offended by my opinion, but still, it is my opinion and I am entitled to it.  ;)  I dont have anything against anyone on this board.

I wouldnt mind having the cars. Put a little work and effort in to them and they could be some fairly decent rides. Kind of a high BIN price though. I am not a a big fan of Slipknot, but I can say they put on a hell of a show live. I had a buddy that was a huge fan of theirs. Knowing him if he were still alive, he would give his testicles to have those cars. Just because they were owned by Shawn. Which is what will probably happen. Some kid will fork over some big bucks knowing full well he could give a crap about the cars just to say he has them. Then just let them sit out and rot down somewheres.

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.
2007 Magnum R/T. 5.7 Family wagon.

wow.  no wonder you are a knot fan.  all that aggression and nothing to do with it!

I've seen them live several times.  Even reviewed them......and they blew.  Joey is the sole talent in that band. The rest of the guys spent the whole hour and a half trying to catch up with him.  90% of the time you can hear the keys or DJ, and you never hear the extra percussion because it's just mirroring Joey.  And if you count, they have 2 guitarists.  My comment was a generalization.  Corey has a decent scream but I don't think he's ever hit a clean note on pitch.

As for "who am i to judge as them as musicians and performers": I am not judging them as performers.  In my opinion they are great performers.  I just think they should bill themselves as a circus and not a band.  I'm not saying my band is better, I'm just saying that as a musician, I find them uninspired and lame.

My hat is off to them for finding a gimmick that worked, but that's all it is.  They did not revive metal.  They only attracted lazy 14 year olds who didn't want to do the homework and learn about real metal.  Hell, the members of the band are more metal than most their fans.  I've heard that they are all really nice guys, so I wish them the best.  Just please call it what it is.  a show, not a band.   oh, and pay Kiss a royalty for stealing the idea.

and as for "my charger doesn't have a mopar battery": maybe not, but there's a hell of a difference between a battery, the whole damn engine, and the interior.

Not  at all ;D! I am totally fine with that, and I kinda feel like I tried to be a baby sitter which wasn't my place. I didn't mean to be an ass, I just got a bad vibe. Its all good on my end!
