I pulled the windshield on my 68 to replace the cracked defrost vents,  I intend to resand the dash area between the metal part between the pad and windshield and repaint.  Is there anything else I should do before I put the window back in? and does anyone have a recent year one code so I can order a new windshield gasket?

I took the windshield out of my car a few weeks back.  My plans include:

remove dash assembly and repaint the frame(done)
coat the firewall with ceramic insulation (soon)
restore pedal assemblies (done)
install new under dash wiring harness (soon)
install new vinyl top (soon)
replace all clear glass with tinted glass (soon)

As usual, one thing leads to another and it just keeps costing more and more and more.... :rotz:

The company that installed the windshield last glued it to the gasket, I don't think it will clean up.
