How was your Christmas, mine was great

How was your Christmas, mine was better than ever. As you know I have been trying to install new 340 in Challenger T/A. After getting head back from shop on Friday I began to finish install. Saturday around 1pm we were ready to fire it up. First we had no fuel. after trying three different fuel pumps I wired up an electric fuel pump. We had fuel but now we had no fire. I started tracing wiring and found the ballast resistor was bad. Replaced that and then found electronic module was bad. We now had fire but battery was so far gone we called it a day around 6pm that night. Saturday morning after about 10 minutes the motor fired up. The exhaust was still not hooked up after headers so it was real loud and it sounded great. So at 8:30 in the morning I have this mean beast running breaking the cam in, I'm sure the neighbors loved me but we are out in county so no cops show up. I work rest of day putting exhaust together and finishing few other issues. Of course I am starting it ever so often just to hear it. About 4 I get a phone call from Boone County Sheriffs office. I think it's about the noise but instead they were calling to inform me that they have accepted me as a new deputy sheriff. This has been something I have want ed to do since I was a little kid. So with the new motor running and the new job I am happy as I have ever been. Today I am to take the firearms test and go get sworn in and get my uniforms and vest ordered. Today i get my badge and as soon as rest of equipment shows up I go to work. Considering last year at this time I was working at a job I hated in another state I hated what a change in life. Life is good. Now when I get the final tweeking done on motor and headlight wiring harness in and hood on I will drive Challenger to work. I just have to behave myself, this will be a real fun day. I can always flash my badge I case I get pulled over for being a little too aggressive. ::)

Same as always...
1st day of Christmas a dinner with my dad's family, catering was exeptionally good this year. Enjoyed a very well prepared meal of beef and tuna carpaccio, turkey, beef and salmon main course with patatoes and some vegetables (I have no idea which, was too busy getting all the meat I could have)... and ofcourse desert. Let me tell you, I will never organise a Christmas party until I have the abitly to hire catering as well. Just makes life so much easier. They bring everything and you don't have to clean, etc.
2nd day of Christmas just a regular day with mom and my bro and sisters. Trying to get MS Vista working and playing some games. Still have a lot of homework to do since I will have to work every day the rest of the holiday.

Congrats on the deputy job, sounds like things are turning out for you!

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I'm sure they would love to have me tooling around in it as a patrol car. :o No but it will be fun to drive back and forth somedays when I'm going to work. There are a couple of big 5.0 Mustang boys there who are road officers. I'm sure the discusions with them will be fun and high sprited.
