Figured some would like to see and hear the first start-up of my 69 Charger.

For those not familiar with it you can find the restoration website here:

It's a R/T number matching A4 silver with red stripe and red interior.  Almost done baby!  Couple more months I would say.

Very nice car!!!   And a very nice job documenting the entire process!!!   Just wondering though......what did you do to repair that crossmember support that was broken?   (underneath the trunk floor)  I didn't see a finished product of that in the site.     Did you replace it or patch it??

BigBlockSam

motor sounds good . congrats . break that cam in . Rene
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Tyler,

We ended up welding that crossmember back up, didn't replace it.  So much was done to this car I was bound to forget to document something.

I was just curious......that is a relly sweet car though  and it appears that you had the right people for the job!!  I'm in the market for a rotisserie right now  because I want to do a "top to bottom:  on mine.   I have all the parts and tools I need  and we are HOPING for a 3 to 4 month turnaround.  The frame and undercarriage have absolutely no rust whatsoever,  but living in South Texas on the Gulf coast, I see a few small rust spots appeaing on the body, so I figure I'd better take care of it before it becomes a major task.  I will be going back with the majority of the parts that are already there as they are in exceptional condition.  Lots of people say  "What for...the cars really nice as it is?"   Well...I want it to be as close to "perfect" as possible.  It's not all factory original....seats are going to be a bit different with a red-orange inset surounded by black, not to mention bucket seats in the back and a 15" sub-woofer between them where the back seat would normally be  (JBL)  I'm not going back with the console...it's already gone.    Just a basic B&M ratchet shifter.   The dash....well  since the interior is basically black,   where the gauges and radio are  (the camera case finish parts)  is going to be red-orange with the dash vinyl black of course, and aftermarket gauges  (Getting rid of every possible electrical component I do not need including the electric windows  and heater and A/C))  It'll be different..but it will be tastefully done and nice.    I've seen some pretty gaudy looking interiors.....I don't need confederate flags all over the interior...the one on the roof is enough....lol  As the process starts though.....you've sort of inspired me to document every step of the resto.....so  it will be happening soon!!!    Can't wait for more pics of your Charger as the finishing touches are put on it!!!   Keep us posted!!!!   Ace

You know, when I first started taking pictures and documenting this huge undertaking I thought of it as a chore but 3 years later I look back on it as something that was quite important.  But most of the time I look back on those old pictures thinking "man, I am so glad that is over with".
