I'VE FINALLY STARTED THE PREP WORK......

I just started sanding my car with my son and it was NOT EASY  to start sanding on a car that has a shiny paint job allready.     I can't wait to get it done.   It was funny how hard it was to do that first scratch  I just felt like it was wrong but I know it's OK.   My wife took some pictures to prove that I am getting dirty and doing some work myself.    I did make the mistake of sanding in the garage first until I got blue dust all over.    So I put it outside to do the rest.  Anyway, I just thought I would share my new adventure and I am proud to say  "I'M  WORKING  ON  MY  CAR"    I'll see if my most special friend Mike can post some pictures for me of the mess that I am making of my car.          Chuck..........................

its always a big mess when sanding, see my garage its nasty from dust but I have no choice, the weather has been nasty outside as well.
Keep up the hard work

I think it's always hard to get the sanding started, I got the passenger side quarter to bare metal on the 73, hood deck lid, both fenders and valances were acid dipped.  I hope I can get paint on it before summer.

You should have seen me today gutting a 55 chevy that my buddy owns.  I'm on terminal leave so I thought I'd go work on it cause I was bored.  No pics but the interior is out and I will be redoing the inside panels myself.  Any one got any ideas on the backing material I need to find to do the curved kick panels and under the rear qtr glass panels as they are pliable or at least need to be.  The other door panels I'm thinking masonite but am open to any ideas.  Sorry if I just got this thread moved to paint body.
