my boss just got me one for xmas.  it's a nano that holds 1000 songs.  I gotta say that this thing absolutely rules!!!

I want to get an adaptor with an FM modulator in it so I can play it in my car, but I see so many.  Does anyone know of a good one?

The Monster Cable FM adapter/charger is pretty good.

I love my iPod.

Can't believe I fought mp3 players for as long as I did.

Now I can't imagine being without 'em.

I fought the MP3 player for so long also.  I bought one for my Wife for our anniversary (little Sony model) and she, ahemm, I love it!   :D

What are you guys fighting with the MP3's?  I guess that's what I have, a Scandisc that holds 750 songs and pix.

I love mine.  No more messing with CD's while driving down the road.  Don't have to buy a CD to get a couple songs you want, just load 'em up individually.

dkn, you must have been a good boy this year.

There are alot of FM modulators on the market, and alot of them are pretty good.

Just find one that suits your tastes.

And if you live in a big city or near one forget the modulator, its pretty much useless.

You will need to get an FM "injector" for that.

Its a device that modulates FM but also physically plugs directly into the Antenna port of the radio.

When it sees signal from the Nano it turns off the exterior antenna of the car.

With the antenna off, and the Fm modulator so close it has a fighting chance.

We had to do that with my bros car.

He had a Sirius radio with an FM modulator and we live in LA.

To many stations, to much interferance, when it worked it sounded like hell.

The "injector" fixed it and the sound is now perfect.

I have an old 12 disc CD changer that has one of those, you plug it into the radio, then plug the old antenna into it and there you go...

I was just worried that if i pick a crappy one, it won't work.  They did just open up an i pod store right near my house, I will stop in and see.  yeah, 1000 songs!!!  I don't think I have ever heard a thousand songs as a cumulative total in my life!!

I went through all of my cd's, did a lot of picking and choosing, (did not download any full cd's just some songs from each)  We are talking about 2-300 cd's.  with select songs I like, I have not even filled 25% of the memory.  this one does store photos, though.  I will store a few of those, but I bet they will really take up space.

No, no -  I was (and I think Johnny was also) refering to the fact that I put off buying one for so long.  The Sony unit I have (the size my thumb) holds 900 + songs.  I love it a lot!   :punkrocka:

I have the FM modulator but I can't recall who made it.  The fella at the Sony Store said it was better than the Sony unit.  I paid $60.00 CDN for it.  I can't say if it is good or not because I haven't used it yet.  Sorry for all the useless info.   :-X

I got my old lady one [samsung] a few months ago and she loves it! I also got her a new Sony car stereo for the Rig. All we have to do is plug in....no FM modulators! works great! :2thumbs:

yeah, I was good.  I got promoted From field mechanic to Service manager in march of 05 and it's been a rough transition.  I am just starting to get things going my way and it's starting to go much smoother.

another good option is the M:robe 500i by Olympus what also is a digital camera, and gues what ? no more tiny buttons, is touch screen so probably better internal navigation, and 20 Gb ( 5 times more than a regular Nano and similar price )... on ebay is around $190. Just that doesn't play Video, BUT YOU CAN UPGRADE SOFTWARE... maybe soon will be able to play video.

another nice good stuff is it comes with remote control with LCD screen and pendrive sized, A/V cable to play on your TV the pics, printer compatible etc...

HDD is removable so looks to be able to replace if get damage, same as battery

Just got one down here Used ( still not in my hands ), just one week. It looks pretty cool.

Other option... M:Robe 100i... smaller than big brother and 5 Gb
