Wanted - Suggestions on where to list my Charger for sale

I'm considering selling my Charger, and since it's in better shape than the ones I've been seeing on Ebay, I was thinking should I take it to Barrett-Jackson or try an upscale magazine. With what I'm seeing people willing to pay for a clone these days, I'm guessing that a restored numbers matching original 4-speed car should start around $50K. Is there a venue best suited to buyers looking for a "concours" quality car?

All help greatly appreciated.

what?  sell?  say it aint so!!  i love your car and i saved your month from the calendar it was in.  but if you have to sell then good luck to you.  i would try the usual before an auction house thats gonna hit you up for 8%.

www.collectorcartraderonline.com  maybe?  i'll think of some more in just a minute.... :ahum:

I agree with PT.  Try those before racing off to Arizona in a couple of months.  For every fantastic price that is paid at auction, there are hundreds more that didn't hit what the sellers thought they'd get.  Don't forget the other hassles of getting it to the show, leaving it in their "care" for a week, having thousnads of people milling around it like it was livestock, paying the fee to enter it in the auction, paying a commission if it's sold, getting it back home if it doesn't sell, and having them try and grind you into dropping your reserve at the block (and don't kid yourself, the pressure to do so is big).  It's a circus and if you can get a decent price privately, go that route first.

I think it is too late to even register for BJ, you would have to wait a year. Those high value auctions book WAAAAAAYYYY in advance. I would put it on ebay with a large reserve. This time of year is hard to sell a car. You have to wait for late spring or early summer to get top $$$$. If you have time, I would wait for Carlisle and put it in the car corral. There are some big players in the Mopar hobby looking for cars. If you can't wait, Ebay is the way to go. Just remember, outside of what you think it is worth, it's only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. The object is to reach as many buyers you can at the same time.

Some good ideas so far from everybody. Is Carlisle back East?

Carlisle PA. Middle of July, 2nd or 3rd weekend. You should try to make it, selling or not. It's really the BEST Mopar show going. Way better then the Nats, and I believe it's getting bigger. If you want it, Carlisle is the place to find it!

Hi Mark,

Sure, I'll add it to my memorabilia. I still have a couple of unopened 2004 Car & Driver calendars to pass along to the new owner. How about I trade you an original Mopar oil filter for it? I bought a case locally about 5 years ago from a parts house that had them in the attic. Shoot me your addy in a PM or email me at bev@bajabev.com

Wonder what it would go for or if mine used to be yours? I'm guessing first thought, since I'm the third owner and the first guy only had it for a year. My car also still has the original vinyl and it's never been black. Gee I never got around to getting the whitewalls to put on the restored set of rims I have. Oh well, gotta leave SOMETHING for the next person, LOL!
