For you midwesterners and southerners, probably no big deal, but for us NY/NJ/CT metro area people, Meaningful college football is a contradiction in terms. 

Hell, then even lit up the Empire State Building in Red last night for them!!

Living in Egypt, I've generally stopped paying any attention to the football scores. I was shocked to see an item on the web referring to Rutgers as a possible national title contender. Rutgers? I grew up in NJ and some things were just taken for granted and one of those things was that Rutgers football was pathetic. I'm glad to see they've finally found the formula for winning and gaining respect. Years ago my niece, who graduated from Rutgers, wondered aloud how the Rutgers football team had done that particular day. I said, "did they play?" She said yes. I said, "then they lost." At that point I had no idea even who they had played much less the outcome, it was just assumed. She was even more pissed at me when she checked and, of course, they had lost. I'm glad they've finally got a program worthy of respect.
