This is a major project and probably too much for me but I found a guy that has, supposed to be, a original 340 car with a bulge hood.  the roof has some rust holes in it the floor pans need to be replaced, the trunk pan also. All the tires are flat, missing the grill.  The bumper is there but is bent.  The hood has a large dent in it and will need to be welded and repair by someone who knows what they are doing. It's got a 360 in it now, runs but problems on the bottom end.  Basically a basket case.

I want the hood but don't think I have the space everything else.  I would consider buying it if the price was right though...He won't part the car out though or sell the hood without the car.  He want's 800 bucks for it...

SO QUESTION:  What's it worth?

WAY less than $800, that car is beat to s#!t...  I've seen complete, driving BB 3rd gens go for under $1500...

This is important;  "I want the hood but don't think I have the space everything else. "

How damaged is that hood?

Come to think of it; if it has rallye dash, console, buckets all in decent shape it would be worth 800...

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

It's got a bench seat with a column shift.  Would it still be worth it?

Its worth the sum of its parts. Your pics aren`t exactly much help in determining its value, other than giving the impression that the car is a possibly a complete POS. From what i CAN see, most of the parts look like junk. It doesnt take a lot of good parts to
make make it worth $800 though. If the hood is fixable, its more than likely is worth it.

It scares me to think the hobby has gotten so expensive that a heap like that would be worth $800.

True enough..... but its not so bad when you compare it to a E body or a 2nd Gen Charger. My formula  on buying a parts car is to total up the value of all of the good parts and divide by two. I`ll pay 1/2 of the total of the worth of the sum of parts. The pics simply dont provide enough info to make a reasonable judgement.

If you have tried to purchase any parts for your car you know $800 don't go verry far, rust free sheet metal (doesn't look like this car has) can easily go $500-800 for a single panel alone.  A bulge hood could be $500.  Seat tracks just cores $100-150, small trim 100-500, disc brakes on third gen are good for conversions, Grill, bumpers, etc. all $50-250.  Being a Charger owner..... Priceless!
