I would like to know if there is anyone out there that has a surviving 1971 SE Dodge Charger or has pictures of one that shows the detail of the pin stripes.

I have some pics where I can tell that there are 2 stripes that run the lenght of the car with the top one being smaller than the bottom one.  Also, from what I understand is that these stripes were painted on not taped on.

I have a 71 SE Chager and would like to replicate the original stripes...specifications would be the ultimate!  But pics are just as good...

Thanks,

Rob

On your fender tag is there a code that starts with V7 ? That is for Longitudinal accent stripes. I recently picked up a 72 Charger parts car with only 72k mile on it, original paint and wearing a longitudinal accent stripe that I'm sure is from the factory. Unfortunately the car is so rusty the fender tag has rusted away. This is probably the same as the 71 stripe. I'll take a pic of it this weekend.

A few pics of the rotbox.
Yes it is painted on.
The top pin stripe measures 1/8".
The bottom pin stripe measures 1/4".
They are separated by 1/4".
As far as placement all measurements are from the body line down to the top edge of the stripe.
On the rear quarter- 1 3/4". The stripe stops at the end of the quarter panel, does not go onto the end cap.
At the middle of the door- 2 1/8".
Front fender- 7/8".
The measurements for placement from the other side were not the same (go figure), but were with-in  3/8".

I don't like that pin stripe on 71/72... looks a lot better on 73/74
