Possible for headlight vacuum pod to only work one way?

Ok, I just came back from a cruise night last night and notice that my driver side is hanging up coming down but the pass. side did not go down at all.  Is it possible for the vacuum pod to only work in one direction as they both go up but very slowly.  I also heard that someone had put some oil into the fittings where the vacuum lines go to lube up the inside of them.  Is this true or will it damage the inside of the pod?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian, make sure the door is not being hung up on the metal bracket used to hold the door open if you have to manually open the doors (with no vacuum assist) or on anything else...

Chris,

Both of them had been working fine before I had to pull the grille for the fender repair from my lift accident.  They had both been working fine recently and Thursday night I noticed that both had been operating slowly when they opened.  Now, they have been shutting slower than they opened and the pass. side does not even close.  If you manually close it with the car running, there seems to be no vacuum assist with it being closed by hand.  I checked the hoses for leaks and hissing noises and found nothing.  I also do not hear the typical hissing noise at the switch like they usually do if the go bad.  I am checking around for a new pod now to see if that is the problem.  I also might try disconnecting the headlight door arms and make sure that the pods are actually working fine themselves to rule out any binding in the mechanism.  Unfortunately, I am going to have to wait till at least Monday when I get the charger back from the body shop as it is back yet a third time for them to try and get the fender painted correctly and not have it turn out blochy or orange peeled.  I guess the third time is the charm as that is the amount of times it took Custom Rebuilt Carbs to get my carb straightened out.
