hi, im looking at buying a 73 charger thats a true U code 440 se car, the engine isnt numbers matching but i thought it might be fairly rare.
Does anyone have the production #s on these? also whats the average for the 3rd gen big block cars, this one needs lower 1/4s like all the rest but other than that is pretty solid.

Here is what I have as info. There were 26 of the 2 door coupe (WL21U3) shipped ,and 753 of the 2 door hardtop (WH23U3) shipped, and 1627 Charger SE (WP29U3) shipped on the 1973 Chargers. Hope this helps

I just bought I guess one of 753,  In # 4 shape (thats what it sounds like you have the old car price guide list it at $3450 + 20% for 440 about 4k for it at book value.

Just don't overpay just because it's rare...   Rarity doesn't always equal desirability.  Good luck and welcome to the site...

Mybe I'm not understanding your post but's my understanding that the Rallye was N/A on the SE but the 440 was an option.

We have known some rares SE rallye packaged, or at least partially Rallye packaged, with mid body sides stripes, rear sway bars, dual exhaust and rear valence cut outs... all Rallye packaged except for hood...

I made a mistake, my post was directed towards 41husk. When I replied I forgot it wasn't him who started the topic, it was hoobatech. Husk listed the production number for a 73 hardtop...with a 440 which would most likely be a rallye. The Rallye package was NA on the SE.

yes, mine is a rallye and I was just posting the Old car price guide price for the SE with 440 for the member.  Sorry if it turned into a high jack!  How much did you have to give for the U code SE, if you don't mind.  I think the old car price guide is a little low on the going charger prices.  They are all worth what ever someone will give!

A guy around here has a 440 SE. He also has a letter from TDC and it says somewhere in the 700's... I just read it yesterday. 73 rallye U-codes are right around there also.
