Hello all,

My car is finnally in the body shop after waiting almost two years....and of course my rust problem is worse than expected.  I need to replace two metal "braces" (?)

However I do not know the correct term used for them, therefore I cannot properly identify them

If someone out there has a couple of pictures of a 1969 Dodge Charger showing the undercarriage near the rear of the vehicle, this would be a great start.

Then maybe can can figure what thsi thing is called.

The parts in question are almost square in size and appear to be bolted in joining the body to the rear cross member

Regards,
Mike

Did you set those rusty parts out on the curb with the garbage can hoping the recyclers would take them away?

Bull, cut it all up and stuck in thick trash bags, left a note on them warning the guys to be careful.

USAF, R/T on my Charger stand's for Rusted / Trash. Only thing on my Charger that did not rust was the Glass!

Mine broke in half while I was driving it on Feb 24th 1995, reason I know the date it was my brithday. Charger made home under her own power. Was not till I open the trunk that I knew what had happen. Scare part, about 3 week's before that I got into it with a guy in a new Z-28 on the interstate. I run 2.76's sure grip and he ran out off balls at 120 MPH, I did'nt. Boy, if it came a part then, there be no Cuda Ken.

USAF, you are lucky. Mine was a trend setter, I think mine was the first to rust in half. A.R.T. only had a hand full of parts then. That is why I used a factory set up out of a nother 69 R/T. Yep. have to Vin numbers, hidden one in the truck lip is on mine.

While it is at the body shop have them in stall sub frame connectors. B-bodys like to sag in the center. Lets face it Ma Mopar had no idea there car's would be on the road in 2005, nor did they care. My doors close better now and Charger feel's stiffer than the day I got her in 1986 I think.

I either made you sick, or feel better about your Charger. Which was it ;D?

Hope the pic helped and if you need any help feel free to ask. I did all the work at the house.

OH, rear subframe is the same on a 68.

                          Cuda Ken, rusting again
