For a few years, I've been on my way to collecting pretty much every stinkin' film Clint's ever made...yep, I'm a fan. :icon_smile_tongue:
Recently, I started getting some of the Rawhide episodes that were played on TV from 1959-1966. The only problem is that Columbia House didn't release all episodes in the 90's when they were selling them because of lackluster sales & I think copyright problems with CBS. They only released random episodes from the first (I think) 3 years.
So I wouldn't be able to get my hands on any more than about 50 of the episodes that were made...a serious bummer for any collector & especially for a guy who's hoplessly hooked on Rawhide.  :rotz:

Well, it appears that CBS has finally decided to relax & authorize the release of the entire first season! SWEET!! :boogie:
I pre-ordered a set from Amazon. It's in black & white, as was every TV show back then (so that takes some getting used to for some folks), but for those of us who grew up watching old westerns, you'll feel right at home. ;)
Each eposide on the DVD has a little commentary on neat stuff happening back then. There's also tons of other "guest star" actors when they were young who make appearances on the various shows.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd pass the word to those of you who might be interested in getting a copy.
Here's mine ;D I sure hope they continue with these & release the rest of the seasons.

Your just a big Chuck fan...
what's the diff?..  ;D

the difference is that clint would never have posed like the pic in his avatar.  I know the guy is probably more of a real life badass than clint, but that pic is gayer than gay.

My father liked that show, I'll have to tell him but I don't think he's into collecting DVD's of old shows. Could make an interesting gift this year.

Did you ever find that old Eastwood movie with Frances the mule?  (Might be "Frances in the Army", or something similar, I forget.)

I'd love to see him make one more "Dirty Harry" movie.  :icon_smile_big:  I just got "Kelly's Heros" on DVD! That's always been one of my Favorites! :2thumbs:

Yep, I finally got one (Francis in the Navy). :icon_smile_approve: It took me 3 tries on eGouge, but I got one (I was determined to keep it cheap).

LowPro, I think nowdays he's too damned old for a Dirty Harry...but he could be "Crusty Harry"! ;D

I've always heard that a very young Clint was in either "The Blob" (1958?) or the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Can anyone tell me which one? He plays a lab assistant or something? I've seen both several times and never remember seeing him. I do remember seeing Guy (Prof. Robinson/Zorro) Williams as the cop who shot Micheal Landon in the Teenage Werewolf though. I thought, hey shouldnt you be flying the Jupiter 2 to some certain doom? It used to freak me out seeing actors in different roles....

Yep, his first scene in a movie was in "Revenge of the Creature",. He played a lab assistant who temporarily lost one of the lab mice...in his pocket. It was maybe a 45 second spot, pretty funny.
He had a lot more screen time in "Francis in the Navy", probably around 7 or 8 minutes total. No big lines, though.
In "Tarantula", he was a fighter pilot at the end of the movie. Other than his voice, you wouldn't even know it was him, because he had a helmet & breathing mask on the whole time (about 30 seconds).

These are the oldest ones I have so far. :icon_smile_big:
Needless to say, these are all pretty friggin' cheezy flicks. :icon_smile_tongue: It's amazing how far special effects have come in the last 50 years.

Yeah, I stumbled on that site about a month ago. They've got some pretty good info compiled.
Did you check out the message board? Those people are waaay further off the deep end than I hope I ever am. ::) :smilielol:

Here's a good list of his flicks in order; http://www.clinteastwood.net/welcome.html
There's a few movies he guest starred in that aren't on that list...like an episode of "Maverik" for example. Got that one on it's way as we speak.  ;)

I took one look at the DVD cover in the original post and immediately started singing to myself "Rollin', rollin', rollin', though the streams are swollen..............." and now I can't get it out of my head.

AAAGGGHHHH!!!!
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
