Ok today I got in my Charger to leave and it wouldn't crank.  After quite a while of fooling around I have found a few things.  My relay on the firewall will click when I turn the key but the solenoid on the starter does not click.  When I jump the terminals on the starter I get sparks(power) but it still won't click or crank.

Earlier today I got in my car and started it.  It seemed like it cranked slow but it started right away and I thought maybe it hadn't quite got to speed yet.  When I got to my destination I tried cranking it again and it did crank but in case the battery was low I didn't crank for more than a revolution or so.  I have since determined the battery is not dead.  I'm thinking my solonoid went bad but I'm looking for input.  The car is a 1969 Charger with a 383.
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

Make sure your battery terminal connections are good.

If you jumped the terminals on the starter with a good battery and it still didn't crank then you need a new starter.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

I took the starter off this morning and sent it in to be checked out.  The guy called me back and said "This thing ain't worth rebuilding."  He said it would cost more to rebuild than a remanufactured one cost.  He said the brushes, armature, and solenoid were all worn out.  I put the new one on and I have a bunch more cranking power than I ever did before so all is well again in my chargerland.
