Are those repop arm rests any good?

There's a guy on Ebay who advertises 13" reproduction arm rests but the picture makes them look a little goofy. They look too squared off or something. Has anyone purchased repro arm rests off Ebay? If so what do you think of them? Is there anyone else that sells them? Sorry I don't have a link. I didn't see any arm rest bids going on at the moment.

I know of a guy selling dashes as well and a member here bought one and was NOT happy with it.

I believe the same guy does the armrests as well.

There is no vinyl at all on these.  They are all foam with a grain texture in the foam.  They are like a nerf football

I got one from Paddock 1 1/2 years ago. It's better than nothing but after a few month the back of it started to sag and it doesn't hold paint very well (they come white or black only) I'd give it a 3 out of 10

There are 2 different re-pop types that I know of.  One is the squared-off style you mentioned, made by dashtop and sold by several places including Year One, Paddock, Hardens and many ebay vendors.  I bought a set a while back, having never seen them in person, and they were pretty awful.  The corners were all wrong, the grain didn't look right and they were soft, like 6T9 said.  Mine even had a hole in the side of it where the mold didn't fill correctly.  I sent mine back, and I'll say Mopars by Crane was good about the return.

There's another guy on ebay selling what seems to be a different type, sellers name is Cudamike I believe.  They are a similar foam material as the others, but a bit more firm and at least his have a better shape aournd the corners and have a solid metal backing.  FYI, he sells many different colors and I thought they were molded in those colors.  All he does is dye/spray them whatever color, so if you're redoing an interior I'd just buy the black ones and re-dye them at the same time as the rest of the interior pieces so the colors match.

Best bet is probably to find nice originals.

So I take it that the pads from Year One aren't of a desirable quality?

CudaMike is the one selling the foam dashpads so I would assume he has the foam armrest pads as well....

Not in my opinion.  I ordered a set a while back from YearOne.  I will be returning them for my money back.  Only took one look at them to see they were NOT going on my car.

C-bodys have the correct ones so they're where ya need to be lookin..

The correct looking ones suck, the ones that look like a brick will hold up but don't look good IMP.

This was the second set I was sent

But don't most of those have the ash tray on the 13" arm rests? That wouldn't be right on a Charger.

Yeah, she fits, but I'm scared to death when I park it in the garage.   I haven't quite figured out where that nose is so I'm overly cautious.     There ends up being about 6 inches on either end.   Winter time the car is going out to a friends, he has my Harley right now.     The other day someone about hit the neighbor's truck because they were gawking so hard. :eyes:

You should be able to get a nice set of used arm rests off the bay.   The front ones in the blue car came out of the junk yard.   Clean 'em up and dye if you have too.   You're lucky with black interior.   You don't want those square ugly repos, you might, and if so, you can HAVE mine. :P

You need one of those little tennis balls on a string that hangs from the ceiling and bumps your windshield when you get to the right spot. Actually, what you need is a three car garage or a shop. Don't we all?

I've been looking for a driver's side arm rest but they are the hard ones to find, obviously because they were the most-used and abused. I have spent some time thinking about how they could be reversed side to side but haven't really come up with much. Too bad they didn't design them with the holes centered. Oh well. So much for the what-ifs.
