My 73 came with two wiper arms that looked alike, but I realized one had the hold down tab broken off. So, I found a set on ebay. said they were off a 73 se parts car.  Can anyone tell me from these pictures if the one with the 'extra arm' is broken or if not, how is it supposed to work and what wiper is supposed to go on what side?  The normal wiper arm has a #32 on it - like mine did. The other has a #29 on it and appears a couple inches shorter.  Does this extra arm mount to the car somewhere?  I haven't looked at the extra other mounts that were sent yet since I didnt need them. That may give me some clue.  :-[

The one with the " extra arm" is for the driver's side

The extra arm on wipe arm goes on drivers side, and is used to pivoting the blade. Without that arm to pivot, the blade will pass over the 90º angle and then hits the moulding or even more will go out from windshield. If you look at movement of passeneger side blade will notice the difference on how much the blade runs over the windshield and you can imagine then how drivers side will do the same movement out from the glass.

Then, of course the single arm is to passneger side.

Now, to install the extra arm:
you will notice a small "stud" at a side of the big threated stud to main arm. That extra arm is plugged on to that ministud ( I don't really know how call it ) and then insert a snap ring on to a groove located on that ministud to keep the arm on place.

Thanks guys. ;D That explains why my wiper always went past the windshield.  ::)
I thought I just had to put it lower on the windshield to start.

So, should the starting position be above the large moulding at the base of the windshield (where I have had them), or should they move below or on the moulding at the bottom to rest below the hood ?  Seems to me they should go below the hood, but I figured I would ask before I repositioned them.

below the hood, resting at the "stops" located on lower moulding.

Then turn it on and check for correct positioning once turn it off again, since without the wipers mounted, the parking cam located on wiper crank could it was wrong positioned when you turn off the system before.

Be sure Parking cam is good lubricated. Very important to get a good working system.

Also keep weting the glass when checking to don't damage the wipers and glass.

Thanks - I never realized those things on the mouldings were "stops" - I learn so much from this list. Now I have two wipers - and there not both passenger sides!   My wipers don't like to park all the way down. They kind of get stuck on the moulding that isnt flush with the windshield anymore so I think that is the problem.  I'm not sure where that "parking cam" is, but I'm guessing it is one of those joints below that drives the wipers after the motor?  I don't know if lubrication would help since there is such a tall lip in places with that moulding. I tried to bend it down, but i think the only way would be to remove all the moulding, and not knowing anything about moulding on glass (yet) I'm afraid to do that job just yet.  I do have moulding problems on my back glass too - it doesn't hook down at the bottom - I think its missing a fastener of some sort if someone can pipe in tell me what i need there two that would be appreciated.  For now, I'm happy - I have working wipers, and can "park them myself" by just lifting them over the moulding and letting them drop down. ;D  ;)

Make a search, there is around two topics about the 3rd gen system stuff where I have posted. They are located on General tech section. Not too much time ago. I really think one of them is on electrical stuff section

Wipper motor is enough strong to drive the moulding step, as far wiper parking cam is on good conditions.

I'm stilll in doubts with website about wiper parking cam system pics. Already got a Dig Cmera from my cousin. Let me see If I can take pics tomorrow
