Tire size question

Hi gents; thought I'd throw another question out there regarding the age old tire size discussion/debate.
I want to stick very close to stock sizing on my 69 charger as I will be using the factory rims and full wheel covers, likely with redline tires.
I wouldn't mind sizing the tires up a bit for modern driving, so I'm looking for suggestions on what size of tires I should run on my factory rims that might be a bit more practical.

Cheers!

14" or 15"?

If 15 I'd say something like 235/70 or 225/75 ?

Do you know the rim size you've got?  14x6?  14x7?  15x7?  Etc.

If it's 14-inch wheels then you don't have many options for tires.  There are the 1960s bias-ply restoration tires (and the radial lookalike versions of them).  The alternative is about 2-3 models of "modern" radials, which are 1980s-90s designs.

Tire (and upgraded brake kit) choices get steadily better as the wheel diameter gets bigger.  The exception is 16" which is mostly neglected as a hi-po/aftermarket size.  (But 16" is still very popular as a regular commuter tire.  Figure that out.)

I have always thought the 14" rims are too small for B bodies. Maybe I'm used to 15" because in Venezuela all B body Mopar assembled locally came out from assembly line with 15"s.

Now, thinking on sizing up the rims... my next and only choose would be 17"s. No bigger than that. Rubbers look fine on our cars. Bigger rims become our cars on charriots look alike.

There were two different 14" steel wheel widths in '69, 4 1/2" and 5 1/2"...this will limit the width of the tire you can correctly use.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
