I have finally organized my parts room and found this old 2 barrel, center carb for a 440-6 pack. Holley 4144. Does anyone know how to determine which year/car it is for, automatic/manual and how to find date code?
Thanks
Bob

It's for a '70 automatic, the date code is above the list number. In your case, looks like it was made in 1977 for the aftermarket.

-Three Digit - Example 763 > 7 - Year (1967) , 6 - Month (June) , 3 - (Third Week)
-Four Digit - Example 0798 > 079- Day of Year (would land in March) , 8 - 1978/1988/1998/2008
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yes 70 auto but with N95 emissions. Which is California car?? 4376 is center auto without N95.
