Help Fast! Are there multiple VIN numbers on 1968 Charger - if so where?

I'm trying to buy an out of state 1968 Charger and bring it to Colorado.  Colorado requires a VIN verification form filled out by a Colorado licensed motor vehicle dealer or an emission center.  They must have two legible VIN's that can be located on the vehicle.  If they match they can fill out the form and I can license the car.  If not I am stuck with a car I have paid for but can't get on the road.

Other than the one visible through the windshield on the top of the driver's side dashboard, is there another VIN located on a 68 that is visible to an inspector?

Thanks in advance.  John

On the radiator support and trunk lip side edge. The block and transmission if original.

1968 DOES NOT have body markings that match the VIN. Body stampings are the  Order Number. You may get lucky and find a partial VIN # at the back of the engine block/front of the trans housing, beside the oil pressure sender, IF it's the original engine/transmission.

1969 'Bee WM21H9A230241

1966 Plymouth Satellite HP2 - 9941 original miles

I previously understood that the stampings on the trunk lip edge and radiator support are not the VIN.

I have no build or broadcast sheet to match the order number to the radiator or trunk edge stampings.

Unfortunately, the car does not have it's original engine or transmission either.

Is there nowhere else to find a VIN stamping?

unfortunately - NO
& Colorado's requirement can't be accurate (ASK MORE QUESTIONS) every 1967 & earlier MOPAR (many trucks & other vehicle manufacturers) only have the VIN tag

is it a R/T?  XS29 car?

can you share the VIN & a fender tag pic?

WestWeires

As suggested above I checked further with Colorado DMV.  I received some inaccurate information from a second party.
There is an additional step to getting the car registered with only one VIN stamping, but it can be done.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I live in CO, Pueblo County.

I've only ever needed two matching VIN- in the case of your 68 that would be title and the dash VIN. Or the dash VIN and your insurance card.

VIN is XS29L8B222599.

the shipping order number stamped on the core support & trunk lip should be:  B8X1183xx

For whatever reason the fender tag is missing.
I'm not concerned about originality, just wanted to make sure I could get it registered without a problem
Thanks again everyone.

This was like 12 years ago I restored this car & I think it was the VON. But just like 3 different VIN #'s are not OK on a Car 3 different VON #'s would not be OK either. :scratchchin:
